Small features such as drilling holes are often seen on large manufacturing components in the aerospace field. The existing detection methods are slow and not accurate enough. How to achieve rapid batch detection of such features in an efficient manner is a huge challenge we face.

The APODIUS Absolute Camera Automatic Measurement System (AAC) is designed to quickly achieve automated batch detection of small features. It can be directly installed on robot arms or integrated into processing equipment to quickly and accurately complete measurements, which is currently impossible to achieve with other non-contact measurement technologies.

As part of the laser tracker automation solution, AAC can be paired with LeicaAT960 laser tracker and Leica T-MAC sensor to collect raw part positioning data using Leica T-Scan 5 laser scanner, and obtain high-precision position data by tracking the T-MAC installed next to the AAC sensor. The data obtained by the system can be combined with the visualization data collected by the AAC system and automatically processed in the dedicated APODIUS Explorer AAC software to complete batch measurement and analysis of small features. Compared with other measurement methods, this approach is faster and more accurate.
