The market size of industrial wastewater treatment in China has reached 82.32 billion yuan, and it is expected to increase to 108.64 billion yuan by 2028. The market potential and technological innovation demand are released simultaneously. However, there are still technical bottlenecks in the treatment of high salt, high concentration organic, and heavy metal containing wastewater in some key industries, and some enterprises are facing the dual pressure of high treatment costs and low resource utilization efficiency; At the same time, the integration of AI technology with water treatment processes, the recovery of industrial waste heat and valuable resources, and the large-scale application of low-carbon treatment technologies are emerging directions that urgently require industry entities to strengthen collaborative research and development. The first five industrial wastewater summits have gathered thousands of enterprises and research institutions, witnessing the industry's transformation from a single purification technology to a circular economy and intelligent governance, laying a solid foundation for the deepening of the summit's agenda and resource integration.
The summit, with the theme of "Smart Wastewater Circulation, Building Industrial Low Carbon Foundation", will be held in Hefei on May 26-27, 2026.
