The overall structure of a magnetic reaction kettle usually consists of the following five parts:
1. Reactor body part (reaction kettle)
The body of a reaction vessel is the space where materials undergo chemical reactions, consisting of a cylinder and upper and lower heads. It is usually closed, sometimes also open, depending on the reaction medium.
2. Heat transfer device
A heat transfer device is installed inside or outside the reactor body for heating or cooling, usually an external jacket or an internal coil.
3. Stirring device for magnetic reaction kettle (reaction kettle)
To ensure uniform mixing and good contact of the materials, a stirring device needs to be installed inside the kettle. The mixing device consists of a mixing shaft and a stirrer. Its rotation is reduced to a suitable speed by an electric motor through a reducer, and then driven by a coupling. The vertical mixing shaft is cantilevered. If necessary, intermediate bearings or bottom bearings can also be installed inside the reaction vessel.
4. Shaft sealing device (reactor)
Due to the fact that the stirring shaft is moving while the kettle head is stationary, a seal (shaft seal) must be applied at the point where the stirring shaft extends. The function of the shaft seal is to maintain the pressure (or vacuum level) inside the equipment, preventing the escape of reactants and the infiltration of impurities. Shaft seals usually use packing seals or mechanical seals.
5. Other structures of magnetic reaction kettle (reaction kettle)
Mainly including manholes, handholes, various connecting pipes, thermometers, pressure gauges, sight glasses, safety relief devices, etc.
