The issue of the design service life of pressure laboratory reaction vessels has always been a problem that design units and designers in China try to avoid and avoid. It is mainly manifested in the following two aspects: firstly, laboratory reaction vessels are constrained by technical conditions, management systems, and personnel concepts, and designers are generally unwilling or difficult to provide accurate forecast values for the design service life of pressure laboratory reaction vessels, leading to the phenomenon of pressure vessels exceeding their service life; Secondly, due to the lack of relevant standards and regulatory provisions to provide necessary regulations and restrictions on pressure vessels that have exceeded their service life, their use and inspection lack effective basis, and improper handling can objectively cause significant safety hazards. However, due to various reasons, the design and service life of pressure laboratory reactor vessels have not received the attention they deserve. In fact, the design service life of the pressure laboratory reactor vessel should be marked by the designer on the drawing. When designing the laboratory reactor, the designer should consider the factors that affect the service life of the vessel, mainly including:
The time-dependent mechanical properties of materials, such as high-temperature creep and high-temperature fracture;
Design life factors included in corrosion allowance;
The temporal nature of loads such as periodic loads;
Abnormal factors such as illegal operations or harsh environments.
