LXAM type thin rubber hardness tester
User Manual
1、 Performance Overview
The LXAM Shore AM thin rubber hardness tester is an instrument used to measure the hardness of thin samples (with a thickness of 1.5mm or more) of ordinary vulcanized rubber and its analogues. It is suitable for measuring the hardness values of rubber with Shore A hardness ranging from 20HA (degree) to 90HA (degree). It complies with China's GB/T 531.1-2008, "Test method for indentation hardness of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber Part: Shore hardness tester method (Shore hardness)", which is equivalent to the standard ISO 7619-1-2004.
This hardness tester has high sensitivity and can measure the hardness of thin rubber test pieces in the laboratory. In order to ensure measurement accuracy, the hardness tester should be installed on the LX-AM model fixed load testing rack produced in conjunction with it.
Main performance parameters
1. Needle stroke range: O mm to 1.25 mm;
2. Dial value: O HAM (degrees) lOO HAM (degrees);
3. Force at the end of the pressure needle: 324 mN to 764 mN

Place the hardness tester device on a fixed load measuring rack of the same model produced, and press the sample towards the indenter without vibration at a high speed of 3.2mm/s. Until the hardness tester is pressed down and in smooth contact with the specimen, the reading is obtained when the holding time of the vulcanized rubber is 3 seconds (15 seconds for thermoplastic rubber). At this point, the scale pointed by the pointer is the hardness value of the tested specimen. Five points should be selected at different locations for measurement, with a minimum distance of 0.8 mm between each point, and the measurement result should be taken as the median.
Note: For soft rubber, measuring with thin specimens will result in higher hardness values due to the influence of the supporting platform.
3、 Instructions for use
l. Before measurement, it should be checked that the pointer of the hardness tester should point to the zero position in a free state. If the pointer deviates slightly from the zero position, the upper right corner compression screw can be loosened, the surface can be rotated, and aligned with the zero position. Then press the hardness tester firmly onto the glass plate, so that the end face of the indenter is in close contact with the flat surface of the indenter. The pointer should point to 100 degrees. If it does not point to 100 degrees, the indenter can be lightly pressed several times. If it still does not point to 100 degrees, the hardness tester cannot be used. When used on a fixed load rack, the handle can be pressed to raise the worktable to the point where the heavy hammer is lifted, so that the end face of the pressure needle is in close contact with the pressure foot plane on the glass worktable. The pointer should point to 100 degrees. If it does not point to 100 degrees, the adjustment screw of the worktable plane can be adjusted. If the pointer still does not point to 100 degrees after adjustment, it needs to be further adjusted before use. Note: The allowable extension of the pressure needle is ± 0.01mm.
2. Rubber samples and adjustment
(1) The thickness of the rubber sample should be at least 1.5 mm. If the thickness of the sample is less than 1.5 mm, no more than 3 layers of smooth, parallel samples with each layer thickness not less than 0.5 mm can be stacked. The results of the stacked sample may not be consistent with those of the single-layer sample.
(2) The rubber sample must have sufficient area to ensure that the contact position between the indenter and the sample is at least 2.5 mm away from the edge. The sample should be measured five times at different positions, with a minimum distance of 0.8 mm between each pair.
(3) If possible, the sample should be conditioned at the laboratory standard temperature in accordance with GB/T 2941-2006 before testing. Comparative or series tests must be conducted at the same temperature.
(4) The surface of the sample should be smooth and flat, without defects such as missing glue, bubbles, mechanical damage, and impurities.
(5) The total mass of AM weight and hardness tester is 0.25 Kg±0.05 Kg 。
After using the hardness tester, put it into the instrument box or instrument box. Place in a dry place to prevent moisture.
4. The lifting shaft and the bottom of the worktable on the fixed load measuring rack should be wiped clean and coated with a small amount of rust proof oil to prevent rusting.
