The instrument uses ultraviolet fluorescence method to measure the concentration of oil molecules in water. Oil molecules are activated into an excited state under specific ultraviolet light irradiation, which is very unstable and quickly returns to the ground state; During the process of returning to the ground state, radiation fluorescence is generated, and the concentration of oil molecules in the water sample is directly proportional to the intensity of the emitted radiation fluorescence. The water sample is sent to the colorimetric cell after passing through the pre-treatment device, and the light source is parallel to the oil molecules in the colorimetric cell. The generated fluorescence is irradiated on the fluorescence sensor, and a filtering system is installed before the ultraviolet light emission and fluorescence sensor reception to control the emission wavelength of ultraviolet light and select the specific fluorescence wavelength that receives the scattered oil molecules. The received fluorescence intensity corresponds to the concentration of oil in the water sample to a certain extent. After the selection and control of the emission and reception wavelengths by the filtering system, this linear relationship can be made more clear.
