Linde 4000 series encoder for roll gap control

Unlike other encoder solutions used for roll gap control, Leine Linde's new Linear 4000 series does not require installation inside the cylinder. These reliable linear encoders can be easily installed and maintained for their output position values.

The rolling mill stands of steel mills operate in one of the harsh industrial environments: high temperatures, corrosive chemicals, impacts, and vibrations. However, due to its reliable structure, the new linear 4000 series can withstand harsh environmental conditions of applications without the need to install cylinder blocks inside the running machine. These new linear encoders come with independent seals, allowing them to withstand high temperatures and other strong external stresses, while their inductive scanning can resist strong impacts and vibrations.

Since the 4000 series directly provides position values to the PLC, there is no need for additional counters as intermediate points, and the encoder will not lose its position. The 4000 series linear encoder has a measurement length of up to 260 mm and interfaces: SSI and EnDat. Using reliable gateway solutions from Leine Linde, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, and EtherNet/IP interfaces are available.
