Analysis of installation conditions and steps for superheated steam flowmeter
Date: 2022-06-19Read: 0

Superheated steam flowmeter is a volume flowmeter produced by graduate students based on the Karman vortex street principle, which measures the volumetric flow rate, standard condition volumetric flow rate, or mass flow rate of gases, steam, or liquids. The characteristics of vortex flowmeter are small pressure loss, large range, high accuracy, and it is almost unaffected by parameters such as fluid density, pressure, temperature, viscosity, etc. when measuring volumetric flow rate under working conditions. No movable mechanical parts, therefore high reliability and low maintenance.

overheatingSteam flowmeterMainly used for flow measurement of industrial pipeline media fluids, such as gases, liquids, steam, and other media. The environmental conditions must meet the requirements. Mainly used for flow measurement of industrial pipeline media fluids, such as gases, liquids, steam, and other media.

Sensors should be installed on pipelines that are horizontal, vertical, or inclined (with fluid flow from bottom to top) and correspond to their nominal diameter. Sensors should be avoided from being installed on pipelines with mechanical vibration. When vibration is inevitable, it should be considered to add a fixed support bracket on the straight pipe section about 2DN away from the sensor.

Sensors should be installed in places with strong electromagnetic fields (defined as fields that transmit magnetic forces between objects) interference, thermal radiation, corrosive gases (defined as decay, disappearance, erosion, etc.), small spaces, and inconvenient maintenance (w é ixiu).

When the measured medium contains a large amount of impurities, a filter should be installed beyond the required length of the straight pipe section upstream of the sensor.

A certain length of straight pipe section should be deployed upstream and downstream of the sensor, and the inner wall of the straight pipe section should be clean, smooth, and free of obvious bumps, scale deposits, and peeling. Its length should meet the requirements of Figure 2. The pipeline near the installation of the liquid sensor should be filled with the measured liquid.

The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should be as consistent as possible with the sensor diameter. If it cannot be consistent, a diameter slightly larger than the sensor diameter should be used, with an error of ≤ 3% and not exceeding 5mm.

Installation steps and requirements for vortex flowmeter

Weld the equipped flanges or flanges onto the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections, ensuring that the inner diameters of the flanges and straight pipe sections are strictly perpendicular and concentric.

Clamp the sensor onto the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections welded with flanges, and tighten them with bolts to keep the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections coaxial with the sensor.

Sensor installation method: The sensor should be installed facing upwards or horizontally (with the amplifier pointing); When the medium temperature exceeds 250 ℃, the sensor should be installed horizontally.

Sensors and pipelines should be well grounded when necessary, with a grounding resistance of ≤ 10 Ω.
