Precautions for operating Huawei Sci Tech solvent filters

1Huawei Science and Technology InnovationSolvent filters are fragile items and should not be moved as a whole, especially with clamps.

2. Qualified products should be selected for the filter membrane. Unqualified products will dissolve impurities. The filter membrane quality can be evaluated by soaking it in the solvent to be filtered for 24 hours to see if there is any dissolution phenomenon.

3. There are two types of filter membranes: water-based and organic, which need to be distinguished.

4. Choose a water-based membrane for water filtration and an organic membrane for organic solution filtration. After filtration, mix the mixture and determine which ratio of mobile phase to use and which type of membrane to use.

5. Microporous filter membranes do not differentiate between smooth and rough surfaces, but the filtering effect will be better when the smooth surface is facing upwards and the rough surface is facing downwards.

6. Do not dispose of discarded filter membranes casually. Filter membranes are polluting to the environment and should not be degraded. Collecting and agreeing to dispose of them would be better.

7. When the oil-free vacuum pump that comes with the solvent filter is used for pumping, do not wait until the liquid is empty before pulling out the tube. It is not advisable to pull out the tube as it may flatten the hose and stop the pump when there is still a little liquid left.

8. The filtered solvent should avoid secondary pollution.
