Teach you how to distinguish the sealing performance of PTFE gaskets

It is usually woven from relatively soft thread like materials, with a cross-section of square, rectangular, or circular strips filled in the sealed cavity. Therefore, it can be well matched with the shaft and packing box, with excellent corrosion resistance, good self-lubricating properties, and anti sticking properties. There are four general methods for identifying the sealing performance of PTFE gaskets:

1. Integrity of weaving

The weaving of PTFE packing should be produced on machines with multiple spindles and tracks. Multiple spindles mean more tangled strands, which will make PTFE packing more durable. PTFE packing produced on four track machines has a flatter and smoother outer surface than PTFE packing produced on three track machines, undoubtedly improving the sealing efficiency of PTFE packing and reducing the clamping force required to achieve sealing effect. However, we also recognize that in some cases (especially in small-sized PTFE packing), using a four track machine may not be suitable.

2. Integrity of performance composition

After comprehensive consideration of the performance standards of PTFE packing, it has been carefully designed to achieve * in a pure environment. End users should pay attention not to add additional lubricants when repairing PTFE packing, as this will prevent the original performance of PTFE packing from being fully utilized. This will increase the weight of PTFE packing, reduce plasticity, and make it lose its impact resistance, resulting in increased maintenance costs.

3. Size range

The factor affecting the effectiveness of PTFE packing is the choice of its size. However, the Fluid Sealing Association adopts a default attitude towards deviating from the original size in both aspects. We emphasize the importance of avoiding sizes larger than the standard size. PTFE packing can be in working condition even when the size is less than or equal to the standard size. This method can ensure that the woven PTFE packing can be installed correctly in some special situations, minimizing downtime and the possibility of installation failure. Wheel pressure weaving and forming sealing rings are two effective ways for manufacturers to follow the size specifications.

4. Weaving density

The most important factor affecting the performance of PTFE packing is its weaving density. However, weaving itself has strong artistic qualities, and weaving density is often difficult to reflect numerically. In most application scenarios, PTFE packing that has been tightly and orderly woven as much as possible is preferred. This will have an effect on specific applications. Tightly woven PTFE packing not only resists wear and compression, but also does not deform at high temperatures, reducing the need for adjustment of PTFE packing and effectively controlling leakage.

PTFE braided packing (also known as PTFE raw material packing, PTFE packing, PTFE packing, PTFE raw material packing) is a good dynamic sealing material. It is woven from expanded polytetrafluoroethylene strips. It has excellent properties such as low friction coefficient, wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, good sealing, non hydrolysis, and no hardening. It can be used at temperatures ranging from -50 ℃ to+200 ℃.
