The weather in May is a bit hot and humid, with the smell of the sun bursting in the air. Beckman Coulter's extracellular vesicle seminar is currently in full swing in Wuhan, Chengdu, and Shenzhen. Extracellular vesicles with a bilayer membrane structure and vesicular heterogeneity are involved in various physiological and pathological processes. Extracellular vesicle research has shown great clinical application prospects. Vasilis Toxavidis from the Harvard Stem Cell Institute in the United States and John Tigges from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School in the United States, two scholars with rich experience in flow cytometry and extracellular vesicle research, traveled extensively and had face-to-face exchanges with local researchers, welcoming a series of academic feasts on flow cytometry and extracellular vesicle research.
May 24th Wuhan Station
Wuhan is a workshop station for extracellular vesicle detection. At 9 o'clock, Jiangcheng is troubled by busy road congestion, and teachers who come to attend the lecture are constantly rushing to the venue early to wait. In the cool lecture hall of Wuhan Biotechnology Research Institute, Vasilis and Toxavidis respectively conducted flow cytometry performance analysis of detecting vesicles and shared their experience in flow cytometry detection of extracellular vesicles. Beckman Coulter's national centrifuge product Howard and flow cytometry application expert Liu Fei respectively introduced the classic applications of ultracentrifugation technology and flow cytometry in extracellular vesicle research. The PPT images projected onto the LCD screen made the attending teachers show enthusiasm, and the collision of flow and vesicle research sparked sparks of thought. In the afternoon experimental section, teachers used CytoFLEX flow cytometry to directly experience the surprise of transforming theory into experimental results.

May 26th Chengdu Station
Chengdu, the Land of Abundance, was the second stop of the seminar. However, the Shangri La Hotel auditorium, which originally accommodated over a hundred people, experienced overcrowding ahead of schedule and had to add extra seats in the hallway. In the morning, there were four lectures, and the speeches of two American experts, Vasilis Toxavidis and John Tigges, attracted applause from the teachers in the audience. Everyone actively asked questions to dispel their doubts; Director Mo Xianming and Deputy Director Zhang Wengeng of West China Hospital combined their laboratory advantages to give reports on the current status and development of standardized flow cytometry and lung single-cell atlas research, pushing the activity to a climax. The teachers present deeply experienced the profoundness of flow cytometry. In the afternoon roundtable discussion, the teachers participated in different discussion groups based on their research fields to exchange and understand the application of flow cytometry in different fields. The teachers gained a lot of practical knowledge from the lively discussion.

May 28th Shenzhen Station
"The wind drives the waves, and the roc enters the nine days". The last stop of the activity came to Shenzhen, the economic and technological frontier of the the Pearl River Delta. The world was changing rapidly, and scientific research was changing with each passing day, which promoted the local teachers' desire for new technology. At the Qilin Mountain Villa Lecture Hall in Shenzhen, Vasilis Toxavidis and John Tigges introduced and shared the use of flow cytometry to detect 100 nm exosomes, which gave everyone a deeper understanding of flow cytometry technology and opened the door for flow cytometry detection of exosomes. Associate Professor Huang Wei from Southern University of Science and Technology introduced the application of flow cytometry from the perspective of ES cell transfer research, while Professor Zheng Yi from Southern Medical University introduced the application of flow cytometry from the perspective of stem cell research. The Beckman Coulter CytoFLEX series flow cytometer has become a popular choice among researchers due to its high sensitivity and resolution.

The three academic events on extracellular vesicles were packed to capacity, with no empty seats. Everyone enjoyed the different scenery of flow cytometry technology in a relaxed and pleasant environment, and learned about the unique beauty of Beckman Coulter flow cytometer in micro particle detection. The successful conclusion of this event further inspires Beckman Coulter to firmly root itself in the research needs of our customers, continuously develop and innovate. Let's schedule another meeting next year!
